FENWAY — More than 1,200 guests attended the Corey C. Griffin Charitable Foundation‘s annual Corey Fest, which was held at the House of Blues on November 2, 2019.
The event raised more than $1 million to support the Foundation’s mission of improving the lives of primarily Boston-area children through strategic partnerships with the city’s leading educational and healthcare institutions, with an emphasis on faith-based initiatives. “We believe that every child should have the opportunity to succeed, irrespective of their financial or health circumstances; our partnerships are helping make this goal a reality,” according to the nonprofit’s website.
The Foundation was started by Corey’s family and extensive network of friends after his tragic death at age 27 on August 16, 2014 after a day in which he had raised more than $100,000 to fight ALS.
Country breakout star Cole Swindell headlined this year’s Corey Fest after an opening performance by local favorites Dalton & the Sheriffs.
