BACK BAY — 400 guests attended the Veterans Legal Services’ 27th annual gala at which Jim Koch, brewer and founder of Samuel Adams, was given the Distinguished Service Award. The gala was held at the Harvard Club of Boston.

Veterans Legal Services, the primary provider of free legal services to low-income military veterans in the Greater Boston area, honored Koch with the award that is given annually to an individual in recognition of his or her extraordinary, impactful community contributions.
