Tom Kershaw marks 50th anniversary of buying the Hampshire House

BOSTON — It was a packed house for the June 10 luncheon to mark the 50th anniversary of Tom Kershaw’s purchase of the Hampshire House and the Bull & Finch, the basement bar that spawned the TV show “Cheers.”

Joining Kershaw for the lunch and an evening of festivities were state House Speaker Bob DeLeo, Mayor Marty Walsh, former Mayor Ray Flynn, Lieutenant Governor Karyn Polito, Union Oyster House owner Joe Milano, Kiss 108 FM’s Lisa Donovan and Billy Costa, New England Council chief Jim Brett, Colonnade Hotel’s David Colella, Seaport World Trade Center and hotel’s Jim Carmody, Boston Convention and Exhibition Center’s David Gibbons, and author Bill Martin.
