Powerbrokers, actors turn out to support Michele McPhee at viewing party for ‘City on a Hill’

NORTH END — It was a packed house at the North End eatery Table for the watch party for the hit Showtime series “City on a Hill” episode that was written by Boston investigative journalist Michele McPhee.

Joining McPhee, an East Boston native who worked at both the Boston Globe and the Boston Herald, was a cadre of Boston supporters including “City on a Hill” actor Jere Shea, philanthropist Ernie Boch and his publicist Peggy Rose, casting agent extraordinaire Angela Peri, and hosted by Jen Royale. McPhee wrote the fifth episode, which was hailed by critics with praise such as “In yet another impressive episode…” The show also introduced viewers to an investigative reporter, who seemed awfully familiar, and is portrayed by Sam Soule, shown in the photos below with Michele. (Life imitating art and all that…)

The series, which airs on Sunday night, was created by Boston native Chuck MacLean, is executive produced by Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, and stars Boston natives Jonathan Tucker and Kevin Chapman.
