A splashing success for Matt Brown Foundation

WEYMOUTH — Scores of supporters turned out at College Hype in Weymouth as people took turns trying to dunk someone in a dunk tank, a worthy endeavor on one of the hottest days of the year. It was all for a worthy cause, too, as the $12,000 raised will go to support the Matt Brown Foundation. The event was hosted by College Hype’s Jack Doherty and his team and the emceed by Jim Fagan.

In 2010, Matt was a 15-year-old sophomore at Norwood High School in Massachusetts when he suffered a spinal cord injury during a high school hockey game in 2010. He spent 21 days at Children’s Hospital Boston, then 100 days in Atlanta, GA, at the Shepherd Center Rehabilitation Center before returning to his home town of Norwood.

Matt started the Foundation to raise money to support other families facing the same challenges and the steep costs that go along with such injuries. For more information or to make a donation, click here.
