Runners raise nearly $3 million to support Home Base program

FENWAY — More than 2,500 runners and walkers took to the field at Fenway Park and the streets around the park for the 14th annual Run to Home Base to support Home Base’s programs to support veterans, active service members, and military familes. The event raised nearly $3 million.

On hand at Fenway to support those walkers (5K) and runners (9K) who headed out over the Mass Avenue Bridge to Boylston Street were the group’s executive director Brigadier General Jack Hammond and Red Sox Chairman Tom Werner. The men will be featured in Bill’s latest project with portraits of veterans and those who support them.
