Whittier Street Health Center raises more than $1 million at annual ‘Toast’ fundraiser

BOSTON — 600 guests attended the Whiiter Street Health Center’s 24th annual “Toast”, a gala that honored Eversource Energy President and CEO Joseph R. Nolan Jr. The event, held at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel raised more than $1 million to support the Roxbury-based Center as it provides high-quality medical care and social services to patients regardless of their ability to pay.

Hosted by Whittier’s CEO and President Frederica Williams, the event was emceed by WCVB’s Karen Holmes Ward. Among those in attendance were Governor Charlie Baker, philanthropists Jack and Eileen Connors, former state Senator Linda Dorcena Forry and her husband, Bill, publisher of the Dorchester Reporter, Boston developer Joe Fallon and his wife, Susan, former Boston Police Commissioner Ed Davis, National Grid New England President Stephen Woerner, and tech pioneer Bob Davis.
