BOSTON — More than 400 guests attended the McCourt Foundation’s annual gala, which was held at the Boston Harbor Hotel’s Wharft Room and raised $300,000 to raise critical funds to support our mission to cure neurological diseases while empowering communities to build a healthier world. SEAPORT DISTRICT — 200 guests attended a fundraiser at the Barking Crab to raise money to build a statue in Scituate common to honor US Navy John Connors, who died in a conflict in Panama. The project to honor the late Boston College High School grad is supported by his classmates and fellow Navy Seals. SOUTH BOSTON — More than 1,000 participated in the Brain Aneurysm Foundation’s run/walk that was held at Castle Island in South Boston. The New England regional walk/run was hosted by BAF board chairman Tom Tinlin and executive director Christine Buckley. The event’s fundraising goal was $120,000. All photos by Bill Brett
DORCHESTER — 450 guests packed Florian Hall to honor Richie Paris on his retirement from the Boston Fire Department. In addition to being a firefighter, Paris served as president of the union Local 718. On hand to celebrate Paris were Ed Kelly, a Boston native who is president of the International Firefighters Union, Mayor Michelle Wu, former fire department commissioners Paul Burke, Joe Finn, and Marty Pierce.
