BOSTON — Before Bill Brett headed to Dorchester on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, to see the cleanup of a multiple-alarm fire that drove several families from their homes, he stopped by the office and pulled these images from his archives.
As best as he could remember for us, all three of these photos were taken in the late 1970s or early 1980s. They all show the added trials that firefighters face in the extremely cold weather.
We offer our condolences to the Philadelphia Fire Department who lost a fire lieutenant and a resident of the building in a raging fire last night in North Philadelphia.
All photos are by Bill Brett.
