New England Wildlife Center celebrates 40 years; raises $750,000

QUINCY — 300 guests attended the New England Wildlife Center event that marked the organization’s 40th anniversary. NEWC is a Weymouth-based non-profit that helps animals in need and teaches people how to help care of their natural environment.

The event was held at Granite Links Golf Club in Quincy and was attended by Governor Maura Healey, Quincy Mayor Tom Koch, New England Wildlife Center’s president Katrina Bergman and CEO Greg Mertz. Norfolk County Treasurer Michael Bellotti was the MC and the keynote speaker was Rob Hale, co-founder and president of Granite Telecommunications. The event raised more than $750,000 and featured a surprise visit by the Boston Celtics’ 2024 NBA championship trophy.
