SEAPORT DISTRICT — 500 guests attended the Cardinal Cushing Centers’ annual Springtime Gala, which raised $675,000 for the organization that is an intergenerational community where people live full and meaningful lives at home, at work, at school and at play. The event was held on May 30, 2019 at the Seaport Hotel.
Among those who walked in the evening’s fashion show were: Jim Dunphy, president and CEO of South Shore Bank; Jeff Bellows of Blue Cross Blue Shield; Elissa Montilio, manager of Weddings and Special Events at Montilio Baking Company; George Toma of George Washington Toma TV & Appliance; Charles Drea of Conway Insurance Agency; Chrissy and Katie Raymond; and Jim Fagan, formerly of Shields Health Care Group and currently with Bill Brett Boston.
Cardinal Cushing Centers work with individuals with intellectual disabilities are an integral part of our community and are provided supports to achieve independence, and fulfilling relationships while honoring the founding values of the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi and Richard Cardinal Cushing whose extraordinary vision encompasses all people, all faiths and all abilities.
Honored at the event were Claudia Sorgi and Douglas Briggs, who received Franciscan Leadership Award and Rockland Trust received the Richard Cardinal Cushing Award.
There was a special performance by the Cardinal Cushing Centers Chorus led by Ali Howshall, music director. Jim Fagan and Sister Helene Mertes, OSF lead the Cushing Collection.
