BOSTON – 250 guests attended the annual Where the Heart Is gala hosted by Ethos, which helps older adults and individuals with disabilities to live independently. The event, which was held at the at The Revere Hotel Boston Common, highlighted the vital role caregivers play in our community and honored outstanding leaders for their contributions to improving the lives of older adults and individuals with disabilities in Boston and raised more than $387,000.
The gala was co-chaired by Gov. Maura Healey and John Donohue, chairman, president, and CEO of the Arbella Insurance Group, both of whom have been steadfast supporters of Ethos. The Arbella Insurance Foundation served as a presenting sponsor alongside Rick and Chris Berk, whose generosity and commitment helped make the night a success.
Honorees and Awards: Mayor Michelle Wu, who received the Community Impact Award, was recognized for her ongoing efforts and dedication to creating a more inclusive and supportive city for all residents, including Boston’s elderly and disabled communities. And, Simone Winston, Shannon Pastuszak, and Lisa Pierpont from The Newbury Cup were honored with the Compassion in Action Award for their unwavering commitment to philanthropy and community service. Their efforts have transformed lives and inspired others to take action.
Fundraising Success: The gala raised an impressive $387,000, bringing Ethos close to its $400,000 goal. These funds will be used to provide essential services and programs that support older adults and individuals with disabilities, allowing them to live independently and with dignity in their own homes.
A highlight of the evening was a special video message from Healey, who applauded Ethos for its tireless work and impact over the years. Her heartfelt words underscored the importance of the organization’s mission and the positive change it continues to bring to the community.
