BOSTON — 300 guests gathered at the UMass Club recently to celebrate Tom Lyons, who is retiring as the vice president of external affairs for MassHousing. A Vietnam War veteran, Tom has dedicated his life to ensuring that Boston’s veterans have safe housing, access to health care and other important services, and gameful employment. HOLBROOK — Hundreds gathered to pay their final respects to Edward J. Paris Jr. of Holbrook, formerly of Hyde Park, who died due to occupational cancer on Oct. 29, 2018, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston. He was 64. QUINCY — More than 600 gathered at the Granite Links Golf Club to celebrate the life of Eileen Federico, a nurse who formerly service as the director of the Medical Department at the Boston Globe. Ms. Federico, of Braintree, was 61 years old when she died on Oct. 17, 2018. She was a third generation Globe employee.
