Boston Police Foundation, raises money to support officers, honors David Ortiz and Linda Henry

BACK BAY — The Boston Police Foundation honored Red Sox legend David Ortiz and Linda Pizzuti Henry, managing director of the Boston Globe, at its 4th annual gala that was held on Nov. 8 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place hotel.

The event also recognizes the members of the Boston Police Department “who have gone above and beyond the call of duty throughout the year.” Money raised at this annual event provides the necessary funds to “Back Up Boston’s Finest” by providing new technology and equipment, Officer Wellness and Safety Programs and Community Policing Programs that are not covered in the department’s annual budget.
