DORCHESTER — More than 150 guests attended the 14th annual St. Patrick’s Day weekend breakfast to benefit the Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry. The breakfast is held in the basement hall of the old St. Margaret’s Church, next to the actual food pantry that helps hundreds of local families each year.

The breakfast has become an a “must stop” for state and local politicians and is among the hottest tickets on the political calendar. But it is all in support of the food pantry and the St. Teresa of Calcutta parish community that draws so many Dorchester natives back each year.

As part of the annual program, event cofounder Jim Brett, president and CEO of the New England Council, announces the inductees to the Dorchester Hall of Fame. This year’s inductees were: Boston Police Superintendent Nora Baston, Father Joe White, Father John Unni, state Senator Nick Collins, and Connie Sullivan, a longtime Dorchester resident and supporter who died in 2018.

The event’s emcee was Dan Rea, host of WBZ’s NightSide and Pauline Wells performed. Among those in attendance were: Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, Governer Maura Healey, Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, Congressman Steve Lynch, Congresswoman Ayanna Pressley, state Auditor Diana DiZoglio, and several local officials.
