DUXBURY — More than 500 guest celebrated under a large tent on Duxbury Beach on the evening of Saturday, September 7, 2019, to support the Duxbury Beach Reservation, Inc., and mark the centennial of a dozen or so Duxbury residents coming together to buy the beach so that it would be preserved for future generations.
The event raised $450,000.
Longtime Duxbury resident Jim Fagan, the evening’s emcee, thanked the Duxbury residents for their continued support. Both Maggie Kearney, the group’s president, and Executive Director Cris Luttazi spoke and highlighted the importance of preserving Duxbury Beach, the adjacent bays, wildlife, vegetation and recreational opportunities for all.
The evening’s entertainment was provided by Elan Trotman and the E-Water Band.
