QUINCY — More than 600 gathered at the Granite Links Golf Club to celebrate the life of Eileen Federico, a nurse who formerly service as the director of the Medical Department at the Boston Globe.
Ms. Federico, of Braintree, was 61 years old when she died on Oct. 17, 2018. She was a third generation Globe employee. Trained as a nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, she was known for looking out for the then hundreds of employees of the Globe at its former plant on Morrissey Boulevard in Dorchester.
In addition to her large family, the many friends who gathered to celebrate her life were former Globe employees and numerous people from the South Shore.
