14th annual Boston Irish Honors recognizes Bill Cleary Jr., Regina Quinlan Doherty, and William Bulger

DORCHESTER — The sold-out 14th annual Boston Irish Honors luncheon was held at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum on Dorchester’s Columbia Point. The event, co-chaired by Katherine P. Craven and Paul Haley inducted three outstanding people with deep Boston Irish legacies into the Boston Irish Hall of Honors:

Bill Cleary Jr., a 1960 Winter Olympics gold medalist in hockey and the longtime coach of Harvard’s men’s hockey team; Regina Quinlan Doherty, retired Superior Court judge; and William M. Bulger, the former president of the state Senate and former President of the University of Massachusetts.

The Irish Honors event, held annually by the Boston Irish news site, offers a platform to acknowledge exemplary individuals who embrace our cultural heritage and customs. This unique event, celebrating the history of Boston’s Irish people and their families, has become a popular annual tradition for the city’s Irish community.
