BOSTON — This stunning image of firefighters from the Boston Fire Department is from Bill Brett’s files that he helped unearth for the city’s archives for a project many years ago.
Shown in this photograph is of the firehouse on Huntington Avenue at the corner of Ruggles Street and Huntington Avenue. The crew shown is of Engine 37 and Ladder company 26 — the same crews that today w occupy the station near Longwood and Mission Hill.
As it was in the days of horses and sleds, the fire crews are among the busiest in the city, which today is part of Division 2.
