SOUTH BOSTON — The fallen heroes, troops who gave their lives in service of the country, were honored at a special service over the weekend at the South Boston Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The community also honored the life of the late Senator John McCain, a Vietnam veteran who was a prisoner of war for several years. SOUTH BOSTON — Great news from the chairman is that on Sept. 9, veterans from the region will gather at Medal of Honor Park in South Boston when the annual ceremony at the South Boston Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial will be dedicated to Senator John McCain, who died on Aug. 25. SOUTH BOSTON — The New England Center and Home for Veterans (NECHV) held its 15th annual Leave No One Behind Gala on Nov. 1 at the Seaport World Trade Center. The event was emceed by NECN Evening Anchor Mike Nikitas. More than 600 people attended the gala, which benefited the many programs and services NECHV provides at their downtown Boston facility to veterans facing challenges.
