Dublin Woman Gets Birthday Surprise on Nantucket Ferry

NANTUCKET SOUND — Bill Brett was on the ferry from Nantucket to the Cape when the boat got an announcement that it was a woman’s birthday. A rendition of “Happy Birthday” followed soon after. Bill, who was traveling back from covering the Ireland Funds Nantucket Celebration, was seated next to Tom Sexton, a Boston-based bagpiper who had performed at the Ireland Funds event. Union Point hosts Moving Wall through July 29

WEYMOUTH — The Wall That Heals is at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station through July 29 as part of its nationwide tour. Thousands pay their respects to fallen officer Sgt. Michael Chesna

HANOVER — Thousands turned out on Thursday to pay their respects to fallen Weymouth Police Officer Sgt. Michael C. Chesna, whose wake was held at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church in Hanover. Big 3 Fishing Tournament Raises $385,000 for Big Brother Big Sister

HARWICH — The 5th annual Big 3 Fishing Tournament raised more than $385,000 for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cape Cod & the Islands. More than 300 people were in attended the July 13 event with some 43 boats participating. Sam Jaxtimer on “Thresher” caught the largest fish, a 261-pound tuna.
