UPDATED 04.29.2018 HINGHAM — Mary Brett McCarthy, of Quincy, a longtime civilian member of the Boston Police Department, died on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham, after a long period of declining health, fighting her illness with unbelievable strength and dignity. Hingham — The Hingham Historical Society honored historian David McCullough at a special event at the Hingham Heritage Museum at Old Derby Hingham that featured a conversation between McCullough and the attendees. HINGHAM — Jon “Leddy” Ledwick, who grew up in Hingham a block over from my family, was diagnosed in September 2017 with Stage 4 colon cancer. HINGHAM — A large crowd gathered at the South Shore Country Club to help radio music host Ron Della Chiesa celebrate his 80th birthday recently. Della Chiesa, host of “Strictly Sinatra Sunday with Frank Sinatra & Friends,” was feted at the event that included a performance by Luann Dutra and Rico Barr & The Jump ‘N’ Jive Review.
