Leddypalooza held to raise money for Hingham man with colon cancer

HINGHAM — Jon “Leddy” Ledwick, who grew up in Hingham a block over from my family, was diagnosed in September 2017 with Stage 4 colon cancer.

I wasn’t able to get to the local fundraiser to help Leddy out, so I asked his family and friends to send a few photos from their recent event. You can see them here in the gallery below.

Here is some more information about Leddy and the community’s efforts to raise some money to help him out with bills and the like.

“Leddy is in now in the fight of his life against advanced colon cancer. Leddy has been a total trouper through this… including, coaching for Hingham Lacrosse in between chemo treatments, meetings with his extensive medical providers, and trying to maintain a sense of normalcy for his two boys. For those who know Leddy, you know that he is a great guy, but the last person to ever ask for help. But now is when Leddy needs help the most,” according to a Go Fund Me page set up to support Leddy.

“Cancer treatments are extremely expensive and Leddy is only covered by COBRA insurance right now. Every donation, big or small, counts as Leddy will need all the help he can get while he focuses on his upcoming medical treatments and recovery. Thanks for the support!”
