HINGHAM — 200 guests attended the inaugural Catholic Community Fund of Greater Boston golf tournament and fundraising dinner at the Black Rock Country Club, which raised $230,000 to support the efforts of the Archdiocese and various nonprofit organizations in the Boston area. CCF Chairman Arthur Boyle introduced Cardinal Sean O’Malley, who explained the CCF’s goals. Also in attendance was Bishop Mark O’Connell and several archdiocesean priests. SOUTH BOSTON — The now shuttered St. Vincent de Paul Church in South Boston could soon be put up for sale, sources say. The building is located at 363 E Street at the intersection of W. Third Street in South Boston. In 2018, neighbors worked to keep the building from being sold to a developer interested in making it housing. DORCHESTER — 350 guests attended the St. Paul’s Choir School in Harvard Square, Cambridge, annual spring fundraising event, which was held on March 30, 2019 at Venezia Restaurant in Dorchester. The Catholic choir school is located at St. Paul’s Church and is open to boys in grades 3 through 8. SEAPORT — More than 1,600 guests attended the 10th annual Celebration of the Priesthood dinner, which was held at the World Trade Center Boston. Mark Wahlberg was the main speaker and talked about his friend and mentor Father Jim Flavin.
