BACK BAY — Hundreds braved the first snowfall of the season for the annual Santa Speedo Run, which raises money for Play Ball! Boston. The SSRun takes the runners, many in Speedos or other bathing suits, on a loop up Boylston Street and down Newbury Street back to the Lir restaurant in the Back Bay. SOUTH BOSTON — Mayor Marty Walsh hosted the 12th annual We Are Boston gala, which recognizes the contributions and achievements of the city’s immigrant and refugee residents. Red Sox Hall of Fame pitcher Pedro Martinez was recognized at this year’s event, which shone a spotlight on the Caribbean. SOUTH BOSTON — Philanthropist Don Rodman’s children’s charity Rodman for Kids, which supports programs for young people in the community, at the 15th annual gala that was held on Dec. 2, 2017, at the World Trade Center, Boston.
