The swanky event was held at X1 Boston, which is located in Braintree. Kokoros was sworn in on Thursday at a ceremony that included US Representative Steve Lynch serving as emcee. SEAPORT — 150 guests attended the 2019 New England All Service Academy Holly Ball, the annual celebration of the US military academies, which was held on December 30, 2019 at the Seaport Hotel. GLOUCESTER — More than a 1,000 people turned out on Saturday, December 28, 2019, for the eighth and final “Plunge for Pete” in honor of the late Pete Frates. The event coincided with what would have been Frates’ 35th birthday. Organizers said that 350 registered to take the plunge but some 400 actually jumped into the cold Atlantic Ocean waters. REPORT: Smoki Bacon, a well-known part of and reporter on Boston’s social scene, has died. Smoki marked her 90th birthday with a party at her daughter’s Beacon Hill home in 2018, where Bill Brett took these photographs. Among those who turned out were Marvin Gilmore, who marked his 90th birthday a few years ago.
