HULL, March 24, 2019 — Hundreds of supporters of Special Olympics Massachusetts jumped into the ocean waters today off Nantasket Beach. Called the “Polar Plunge,” the event had been rescheduled from earlier in the year after bitter cold weather prompted officials from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation to have concerns about people being injured during the charity event.
Although this year’s fundraising total was still being determined, last year’s plunge raised more than $191,000 for Special Olympics Massachusetts.
