Boston Fire Department makes history with promotions

BOSTON — In a first for the for the Boston Fire Department, a father and son both active District Fire Chiefs for the Department. Adding to the family pride, it was District Chief Paul Carey who pinned his son, newly promoted District Chief Michael Carey. “Today is always a special day when the Department can promote new officers,” said Boston Fire Commissioner Joe Finn. The officers are: District Chief Michael Carey, Captain Edward Kelly, and Lieutenant Marc McAndrew. “Your hard work and dedication has paid off,” Finn said.
