FLORIDA — My friend Brian Purcell, who retired from the Boston Fire Department about 10 years ago, died recently in Florida. A decorated member of the BFD, Brian spent most of his career with Engine 42 in Roxbury. He later was an aide to the District 3 chief. Arrangements are being made by John J.
