CHINATOWN — Lauren Baker, the state’s first lady and a longtime champion of education and programs for young people, was at the Josiah Quincy Elementary School in Chinatown the other day to help the Highland Street Foundation celebrate two of its programs for the young people and families of Boston and Massachusetts.
The two Highland Street Foundation initiatives that Baker was celebrating were the TADpole 10, which encourages non-profit groups to utilize the Boston Common to ensure young people have healthier lives, and Free Fun Fridays, which kicked off on June 29. The program, now in its 10th year, offers free admission and access to museums, events, historical sites, and productions around the state on 10 consecutive Fridays each summer.
