Paraclete Center honors former mayor Ray Flynn and his family

DORCHESTER — 300 guests attended the Paraclete Center in South Boston’s event at which former Boston mayor and U.S. Ambassador to the Vatican Ray Flynn, his wife, Cathy, and their children, who include City Councilor Ed Flynn, and grandchildren were honored.

The event was held on Thursday, Feb. 28 at Boston College High School in Dorchester.

The Flynns received the Founders Award for their support of the center, which is located at 207 E. Street in what was once a convent, and has now been converted to classrooms and activity spaces. It serves 65 students throughout the year.
