Our colleague, the talented photographer Sean Goss, who took more than 100 photographs during the Black Lives Matter marches in 2020, returned on the anniversary (Sunday, May 31, 2021) to photograph the same locations in 2021.
What follows are ten of Sean’s images as taken in 2020, from the peaceful protests outside the State House early in the day to the unruly crowds that filled the streets and other violence, including a police vehicle being set on fire. Those are followed by the scene on Monday night.
