BACK BAY — 1,000 guests attended the 30th annual Steppin Out gala night of music and food to benefit the Dimock Center in Roxbury. Kool and the Gang were among the many performers at the event, which was held at the Sheraton Boston Hotel. DORCHESTER — More than 800 guests attended the inaugural Joseph “Dodo” Nee Foundation fundraiser, which was held on Oct. 13, 2017 in Florian Hall, Dorchester. Joseph “Dodo” Nee died on Sept. 6, 2016 and his family and friends started the foundation as a way to celebrate Nee’s life and carry on his commitment to the South Boston community that he loved.
