BOSTON — Before Bill Brett headed to Dorchester on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2018, to see the cleanup of a multiple-alarm fire that drove several families from their homes, he stopped by the office and pulled these images from his archives. BACK BAY — Thursday’s snowstorm and the stretch of extremely cold temperatures have meant that a number of social events have been postponed, but that didn’t stop Bill Brett from filing some shots. Bill hit the streets on Saturday in the Back Bay, particularly Newbury and Boylston streets near Copley Square and the Prudential Center. Overnight, Boston is projected to have the lowest temperatures for this date in the more than 140 years of record-keeping.…
SOUTH BOSTON — 225 guests attended the Holly Ball, the annual formal gathering of the attendees of the military academies, which was held at the Seaport Hotel. This year’s ball was hosted by the Coast Guard Academy. All photos by Bill Brett.
THEATER DISTRICT — More than 1,200 guests attended the annual Matzo Ball, the country’s leading holiday party, which was held on Dec. 24, 2017 at Royale Nightclub in Boston. All photos are by Bill Brett.
BACK BAY — The 30th annual Ebony Gala was held at the Hynes Auditorium in Boston’s Back Bay. The swanky event is organized by a number of area service organizations including Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, National Black MBA Association — Boston chapter, and the National Society of Black Engineers.
