NANTUCKET — 150 guests attended the Ireland Funds America’s 29th annual Nantucket party that was held at the summer home of Bill and Beth Scannell. THEATER DISTRICT — Michael Patrick Murphy celebrated the release of his novel “Neighborhood Lines” at a party on the rooftop of the Revere Hotel in Boston. Murphy is a business owner who wrote the first draft of his novel while in college and he mines his family’s Boston roots to flush out this novel that is set in the city. All photos by Bill Brett
HANOVER — Thousands turned out on Thursday to pay their respects to fallen Weymouth Police Officer Sgt. Michael C. Chesna, whose wake was held at St. Mary of the Sacred Heart Church in Hanover. Father Christopher Hickey, who once studied to be in law enforcement, will say the funeral Mass this morning at the church. All photos by Bill Brett
HINGHAM — South Shore Conservatory’s Evenings Under the Stars (EUS) concert series kicked off its 2018 season on Saturday, July 7, 7 pm, with the Evenings Under the Stars Festival Orchestra and Conductor Nicholas Palmer presented orchestral and vocal music with Opera and Musical Theatre Gala.
