HANOVER — More than 125 people surprised long time South Shore resident and philanthropists Colleen ”CoCo” Shields. The surprise event was held at Albas on Route 53 in Hanover. The event emcee Jim Fagan appeared as Barry Manilow to add to the fun at the Copacabana. The party was planned and hosted by Colleen’s siblings, children, and friends. All photos are by Bill Brett.
SQUANTUM — The city of Quincy and military supporters gathered at the intersection of E. Squantum Street at Parke Avenue to dedicate the square in the memory of Lance Corporal Christopher Donahue (USMC), who was killed in action on May 19, 1969 in Da Nang, Vietnam. COLUMBIA POINT — 450 guests attended the Catholic Charities Spring Celebration that honored College of the Holy Cross President Vincent D. Rougreau with the John and Virginia Kaneb Justice and Compassion Award. The event, which was held at the John F. Kennedy Library and Museum in Dorchester’s Columbia Point, was hosted by Cardinal Sean O’Malley with Catholic Charities board Chair Mark Kerwin. Father John Unni was the guest speaker. BOSTON WATERFRONT — 400 guests attended the McCourt Foundation’s annual gala, which honored the memory of Paul McCourt, founder and board member of the family foundation. McCourt, of Hingham and Harwichport, died in October 2022 at the age of 68. The gala took place at the Boston Harbor Hotel’s Wharf Room and raised $250,000. All photos by Bill Brett
