BOSTON — 300 guests attended The Friends of the Public Garden’s Green and White Ball, which raised $625,000 for the care of the Boston Common, Public Garden and Commonwealth Mall. CAMBRIDGE — Several hundred guests attended the Block Party to benefit Next Step, a Boston area organization that helps young people with chronic or life-threatening diseases. The event was held on Friday, April 27, 2018 at the Walker Memorial on the MIT Campus in Cambridge. BRAINTREE — More than 3,000 people took part in the annual Run for Charlotte, which raises money to provide financial assistance to families facing pediatric cancers. The participants did either a 10K or 5K run, or a 5K walk in Braintree. The race is named for Charlotte Kelly, who was 5 years old when she died in 2011 from neuroblastoma, a rare and aggressive cancer that primarily strikes children and infants. BOSTON — The Catholic Schools Foundation held its 28th annual Inner-City Scholarship Fund dinner on April 12, 2018 at the Boston Marriott Copley Place hotel. The dinner was chaired by Bill Achtmeyer, Founding Partner of Parthenon-EY and raised $3.4 million for student scholarships.
