DORCHESTER — More than 800 guests attended the inaugural Joseph “Dodo” Nee Foundation fundraiser, which was held on Oct. 13, 2017 in Florian Hall, Dorchester. Joseph “Dodo” Nee died on Sept. 6, 2016 and his family and friends started the foundation as a way to celebrate Nee’s life and carry on his commitment to the South Boston community that he loved. FLORIDA — My friend Brian Purcell, who retired from the Boston Fire Department about 10 years ago, died recently in Florida. A decorated member of the BFD, Brian spent most of his career with Engine 42 in Roxbury. He later was an aide to the District 3 chief. Arrangements are being made by John J.
