HULL — More than 150 intrepid swimmers took the plunge at Nantasket Beach on Saturday, February 1, 2020, as part of the 25th annual Drowned Hogs swim to benefit the Wellspring Multi-Service Center in Hull. HINGHAM — A couple dozen customers of Ellen Landers, who opened the Atlantic Bagel & Coffee shop in Hingham every morning for more than 20 years, out to dinner to celebrate Landers’ retirement. QUINCY — South Shore Conservatory celebrated marked the start of its 50th anniversary celebration at its Chase Away the Winter Blues gala, which was held on January 25, 2020 at the Boston Quincy Marriott. BOSTON — More than 500 guests turned out Saturday night for the surprise 65th birthday party for Jake Kennedy, who with his wife, Sparky, founded the annual Christmas in the City. Saturday’s party was held at the Seaport Hotel. The night also served as a fundraiser for the Jake Kennedy ALS Fund, which has a goal of raising $1 million for ALS research.
