Mary Ann Brett Food Pantry in Dorchester makes sure that neighbors have a full Thanksgiving meal

DORCHESTER — New England Council President and CEO Jim Brett was joined by Boston City Councilor Erin Murphy and dozens of volunteers helped distributed turkeys, gift cards, and bags of Thanksgiving groceries to about 225 families. The distribution was held on Nov. 19, the Saturday as usual, but when the Food Pantry’s team realized that the number of people in line exceeded the number that had registered ahead of time, they acted quickly to put together more bags of food so no one left empty-handed, according to a story in The Boston Pilot.
