CHATHAM — He was the son of a Boston mayor, a veteran of the US Marine Corps, and TV anchor from the days when those who read us the evening news ranked as some of the city’s most powerful denizens, but Jack Hynes remained one of the most approachable and affable people in Boston.
On Monday, Feb. 19, 2018, hundreds of family, friends and well-wishers filled Holy Redeemer Church in Chatham and then filed to the nearby Union Cemetery to pay their respects to Hynes, who died on Feb. 13 at the age of 88.
For a wonderful take on the unique life of Jack Hynes, read the beautifully written obituary by the Boston Globe’s Bryan Marquard here.
