BRIGHTON — When Eric T. Donovan was sworn in on Aug. 17 as clerk magistrate of Brighton Division of Boston Municipal Court, he had a few familiar faces there to cheer him on — his classmates from Westfield State College. SOUTH BOSTON — Great news from the chairman is that on Sept. 9, veterans from the region will gather at Medal of Honor Park in South Boston when the annual ceremony at the South Boston Vietnam Veteran’s Memorial will be dedicated to Senator John McCain, who died on Aug. 25. WEYMOUTH — My friend Paul Doyle set up a birthday celebration for a young man he knows, Brendan Tevenan, who works at Justice Hardware in Jackson Square in East Weymouth.
