FENWAY — More than 300 guests attended the kickoff party to support the Boston Marathon team running to raise money for the Martin Richard Foundation, named for the 8-year-old Dorchester resident who was the youngest person killed in the Boston Marathon bomb blasts in 2013.

Martin’s father, Bill, reiterated that this is the last year the Foundation would be fielding a team of runners and the tone of the night was decidedly upbeat as many came to support the work of the Foundation.

On hand for Friday night’s celebration at Fenway Park’s State Street Pavilion were Governor Charlie Baker, Mayor Marty Walsh, Boston Fire Commissioner Joe Finn, former Boston Police Commissioner Bill Evans, Boston Globe Managing Director Linda Pizzuti Henry, Project 351’s Carolyn Casey, College Hype’s Jack Doherty, DMSE’s Dave McGillivary, Father Sean Connor, and Sox Director of Security Colm Lydon. Martin’s sister Jane sang at the event.
