Scituate is site of monument to Ireland’s ‘Easter Rising’

A large crowd turned out on Sunday for a dedication of the Scituate Easter Rising monument, the only such monument in the United States. On hand for the dedication were Irish Consul General Laoise Moore; monument committee chair, attorney John Sullivan; singer Máirín Uí Chéide Keady; Scituate Select Board chair Karen B. The fashion community turns out to raise funds for first responders

More than 260 guests experienced a lot of firsts the other night at Marina Bay in Quincy when fashion designer Denise Hajjar hosted a fashion show with the boardwalk serving as the catwalk for the models. The sold-out event was a fundraiser to fund charities that fund and support first responders and those working in healthcare during the Covid-19 pandemic. SOUTH BOSTON — The now shuttered St. Vincent de Paul Church in South Boston could soon be put up for sale, sources say. The building is located at 363 E Street at the intersection of W. Third Street in South Boston. In 2018, neighbors worked to keep the building from being sold to a developer interested in making it housing.
