DORECHESTER — 150 golfers attended the tournament to support the 11 fund, named after late Boston Bruins player Jimmy Hayes of Dorchester. The golfers playes at the George Wright Golf Course in Hyde Park and held lunch and auction at the John P. McKeon Amvets Post 146. DORCHESTER — Hundreds of well-wishers and mourners lined the streets of Dorchester near St. Ann’s church in Neponset for a touching farewell to Jimmy Hayes, a local native and former pro hockey player who died unexpectedly recently. He was 31. BOSTON — The Brain Aneurysm Foundation held its second annual Champion Awards event at the UMass Club in downtown Boston. Among those on hand for the event were Gov. Charlie Baker, former state Highway Administrator Tom Tinlin, who is a brain aneurysm survivor, and Bruins player Kevan Miller, who is serving as an ambassador for the Foundation.
