QUINCY — 100 guests gathered at the Common Market in Quincy to honor Phyllis Godwin and to celebrate her company Granite City Electric Supply Co. for its 100 years in business. BROCKTON — Brockton Mayor Robert Sullivan and chief of staff Sydne Marrow were on hand recently when George Montilio cut the ribbon to mark the opening of the company’s auxiliary facility. As the city officials saw on their tour of the new bakery, Montilio’s skilled crews were making hundreds of gingerbread houses and yule logs that were shipped all over the country for the holiday season. HULL — At the stroke of noon on December 16, thousands of wreaths were placed by volunteers at veterans graves in cemeteries across the country. In the Hull Village Cemetery, American Legion Post 140 held a ceremony followed by the laying of 650 wreaths by volunteers from Hull, Notre Dame Academy, Boston College High and Legion members many whom are veterans themselves.
