Wishing two friends a wonderful 2022!

As he often does, Bill was sorting some of his file photos and came across this image from the Fourth of July celebrations in 1989. Bill took this photograph of then Boston Fire Commissioner Marty Pierce with the Boston Pops July Fourth celebration’s executive producer, David Mugar, at the rooftop party at 100 Beacon Street.

Mugar oversaw the production of the July Fourth events at the Esplanade for 43 years. In addition to being a first rate fire commissioner, Pierce was the hockey coach at Matignon High School in Cambridge for many years, ranking as the third-winningest coach in Massachusetts high school hockey. His teams won eight state championships from 1975-93.

Bill wanted to wish both men a great 2022!
