ROXBURY — On December 12th, 2023, Whittier Street Health Center hosted its annual Women for Whittier Holiday Tea 2023 attended by 120 women from diverse backgrounds. During this inspiring event, distinguished women were honored for their contributions to the wider Boston community: Cotton Cleveland, Kerin O’Toole, Latoyia Edwards, Helen Credle, Su Joun, and Yuisa Perez.
This year, Whittier focused on a timely topic, Women’s Rights in 2023, in a panel discussion moderated by Sandra King. Three esteemed panelists, Jackie Glenn, Lisa Murray, and Geri L. Haight discussed the challenges, opportunities, and various perspectives on the strides made for women’s rights, as well as a worldwide reversal in the aftermath of the pandemic, particularly for women of color.
“Thank you for supporting Whittier Street Health Center. Your generosity allows us to provide accessible healthcare to Whittier’s 35,000 patients, almost 90 percent of who live below the federal poverty level and 18 percent are uninsured.”
