Weymouth turns out to stand against racial injustice

WEYMOUTH — Students of Weymouth High School were joined by town leaders on Saturday, June 13, 2020 in a show of support of Black lives and against racial injustice. A few hundred people gathered at Weymouth’s Legion Field for the vigil.

Olivia Pietruszewski, a 2018 Weymouth High School graduate and organizer of the event, said the event was a way to come together as a community and raise awareness of the issue of police brutality against people of color. “Seeing all the injustice in the world and what happened to George Floyd really sparked the movement,” she told The Patriot Ledger.
