QUINCY — The City of Quincy celebrated Flag Day with a colorful parade and a seemingly endless display of the red, white and blue. The annual celebration was started by Quincy Mayor Tom Koch’s father, Richard, 70 years ago and has been the official start to the Summer season in that city. Quincy resident and superfan Uncle Sam Rounseville served as the parade’s Grand Marshal. All photos by Bill Brett

QUINCY — Quincy’s own Uncle Sam Rounseville used the occasion of his 80th birthday to raise money for the Lions Club, specifically the organization’s effort to work with those who are blind or visually impaired. Uncle Sam’s wife Jean Kenney threw the party at Alba’s restaurant. The couple has been using his birthday as a fundraiser for more than a decade. All photos by Bill Brett
